Getting There
There are several options for getting to the Puntarenas area from the Juan Santamaria International Airport in San Jose.
If you arrive the evening, we recommend you stay at the Hampton Inn across from the airport. There is a shuttle bus service from the airport to the Hampton Inn. If you plan to rent a car be sure it has GPS navigation and 4-wheel drive. Roads in Costa Rica are not always well marked so it is crucial to have GPS, especially for less-experienced visitors. Most roads off La Costanera (34) are not paved in that area.
There are 2 local airports that are within an hour’s drive to the property should you choose to fly from San Jose or further down there. Cars can be rented locally near the airports or in Uvita. With advance notice we arrange to have a driver meet you at the airport.
Quepos (56 minutes away)
There is currently 1 airline that flies into La Managua Airport in Quepos. Once there, we can arrange private car service to the property, or take you to a get a rental car. Taxis are also available.
Sansa Airlines 1-877-767-2672

Driving
If you drive, it is an easy drive along the Costanera Sur (aka Carr. Pacifica Fernandez Oreamuno), along the coastline. Generally you will be heading west on 34 then South on 27. A link is provided below but navigation is strongly suggested. GPS: 9.0552948, -83.6075793
The property is about half a mile from the highway. There are currently 2 ways to enter the property. The fastest way is across the Coronado River. It is usually low enough that it is no problem with 4-wheel drive vehicle. Once you are off the Costanera, bear left about 1/4 mile and bear left again at fork until you see the river. Don’t forget to put the car in 4 wheel drive before you cross! You will see a compound on the left across the river. For Casa Serenidad, pass the compound then bear right, and it will be the second house on the right, with the green roof, #19. For Casa Cristal, pass the compound then bear hard left. Follow that road past a driveway on your left, then straight up the hill. When you see a paved driveway on the left, and turn right away from it. It will be at the end of the rise.
If you choose the second route, you will continue on the road off the Costanera until you see a one-lane bridge on your left. Again you will need 4 wheel drive. Continue on that road until you see a river, then turn left. Follow the road, you will pass a gate as you enter the boundaries of the property. Once you’re heading downhill, Casa Serenidad will be straight ahead with the green roof at the bottom of the hill. For Casa Cristal, turn right at the bottom of the hill and then right again past the pool, ascending the other hill as described above.
